Former NBA Star Derek Fisher was arrested for DUI on June 4, 2017 in Sherman Oaks, California after a one car accident according to sources. The crash is alleged to have happened around 3AM and Fisher had a passenger in the car. No injuries were reported and Fisher was taken into custody without incident.
Fisher is alleged to have been approaching the 405 interchange in Sherman Oaks when he allowed his vehicle to veer right onto the paved right shoulder and off the road. Fisher was subsequently taken into custody by police. It is unclear at this point exactly how officers determined Fisher was impaired and whether or not Fisher underwent a breath test at the scene.
An unfortunate turn of events to be certain for Derek Fisher, a former world champion with the Los Angeles Lakers. It is also a reminder, however, that bad things can happen to good people and that anyone from anywhere or walk of life can be charged with a crime at anytime.
